The thoughts go round and round

You spin me round, round, like a record.

When I was little, I remember Dad playing "What's New, Pussycat?" on the record player.  Then, tapes took over and I remember playing Les Mis.  Before long there were CDs and now there's no moving parts at all as everything is digital.  But I still remember the record player, and the different speeds you could set to make the music go really quickly or slowly and sludgily.

When the music went quickly, everything was hyper-intense.  When then music was slow, the parts separated and the music lost its cohesion.

That's my brain at the moment - one moment hyper-anxious and dwelling on killing,  the next slow and sludgy, plodding and crying and lying really still hugging my bear..
