Meandering towards a point
I've been not writing much on my blog recently. There's not a lot of time when you're working full-time, studying part-time, exercising 3-4 times a week, seeing friends, singing in a choir twice a week, attending two bible study groups and going to church, plus running a household solo.
There's just not a lot of time.
But today I decided that I would just rest all afternoon. The rest of the weekend had been frantically busy: rushing home on Friday night to make the caramel sauce to accompany the sticky date pudding I'd made on Sunday and frozen (realising that there was no other time to make it before Friday night because it necessitates 2 hours continuously at home (and awake); late awakening on Saturday after driving friends home (who had a spectacular car accident and the bus stop we viewed driving home said she was lucky she was unharmed); listening to two lectures (this week and next's) while cleaning, washing, mopping, etc the house on Saturday morning; eating a frantic lunch and dashing to buy a second hand TV before seeing a play with an old UNSW work friend; driving then to Mum's and spending 3 hard hours setting up her very cheap laptop (Windows has again decided to change things - the start menu was un-findable for a while, I struggled to find the settings - it's all ridiculous and stupid); then coming home for a couple of hours of TV and putting away clothes, washing up, etc. Sunday morning I awoke at 7am and shivered into my swimming costume and rashie, and then put on outer clothes and drove to Coogee Beach for a winter solstice swim (cold, but not as cold I as expected as my ears didn't hurt); then a quick brunch with my two swimming friends before driving to church and shivering through church (my body temperature had gone down and I didn't realise and had to drink hot water with a teaspoon of sugar in it); then back home to rest.
Ah rest.
But my friend Bec has been blogging all month with these cool topics, and I wanted to write about them. So now I'm blogging in front of the TV.
(Although I really should stop as this post is LONG enough)...
